Change your comb, pronto!
If you’re still using a regular comb over the wide-tooth one, then you need to make some changes pronto! Not only do the regular combs open up your curls, but also allow strands to separate, tangle and form into a frizz that absolutely nobody in this world is a fan of.
Deep condition before shower
Ever wondered how RiRi maintains her mane? Well, our best guess is she conditions, conditions and conditions! Apply a generous amount of conditioner to your hair and put on a shower cap and head into the shower. The steam from the cap will help retain moisture in your hair.
Choose your shampoo wisely
It is no rocket science that using any shampoo can damage your curly hair; instead, choose a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner and by mixing a generous amount of both, you could create your own cleansing conditioner. Gently washing your hair with the mixture can help deep moisturize both your scalp and roots.
T-shirts for towels
Who knew your old cotton t-shirts could come to your hair-rescue? After shower, wring out the water from your hair with a cotton t-shirt instead of a towel. Towels are known to absorb too much moisture which causes frizz and can easily become your worst nightmare.
Rubber bands are your best friend post shower
Unlike straight hair, it’s wise to tie your hair up in a bun when semi dry to define your curls and eliminate frizz. Gravity can cause curls to elongate while still wet and cause a bushy mane which you’re going to have to spend hours fixing.
Leave-in conditioners + water + spraying bottle = gorgeous curls anywhere
Have an important meeting but hair is a fluffy mess? Carry a spray bottle with half water and half leave-in conditioner which would act as an instant diluted water spray for your hair. Spray a few times, use fingers to style your hair and you’re ready for that meeting.
