Victoria Beckham (VB), her brand, which debuted in 2008 is still an organic based, family run business with profits doubling over the last few years - could an expansion be on the cards?
Rumour has it that one of fashion's biggest players, LVMH, is preparing to invest in Victoria Beckham’s brand. Although Pierre-Yves Roussel, chief executive of LVMH Fashion Group, was quick to deny these claims; “No, we haven’t”. Yet this doesn’t mean they won’t in the future.
The VB store is at tipping point where potential for exponential growth is high. Yet for successful expansion, highly rated investments from LVMH or Kering, via inorganic growth could be the only solution.
If the acquisition does go ahead it would place Victoria Beckham next to highly regarded players within the luxury fashion industry, such as Christian Dior and Givenchy.
One can only imagine the possible lines and product categories. With three adorable children, maybe kidswear (VB) could be next? The Harper Beckham Collection!
