Over the past few days, reputable media outlets such as WWD and Hollywood Reporter claimed haute couture designer Bouchra Jarrar was rumoured to be negotiating with Lanvin regarding Alber Elbaz's old role.
Today, the French fashion house finally revealed that Jarrar is in fact joining them as its new Artistic Director, with her debut collection for the brand to hit the SS17 runway.
Lanvin' CEO Michele Huiban said of Jarrar in a statement today: "Her timeless style is keeping with the style and values of our company. Her talent, her high standards and her mastery of cuts and fabrics will bring a breath of freshness and modernity into the house while respecting its soul as the oldest Paris couture house, a symbol of French elegance."
