"Everyone always asks, are you a feminist?" said Kim Kardashian at her keynote interview at the BlogHer '16 conference on Friday. "And I don't think that I am."
"I just think I do what makes me happy, and I want women to be confident and I'm just so supportive of women," she explained. Shockingly however, Kim goes on to say that she's not the "free-the-nipple type of girl" which may or may not confuse her millions of fans around the world...
Particularly those who've defended her nude selfies against critics such as Piers Morgan and Chloe Moretz!
Which brings us to ask, why is "feminist" still considered a dirty word? Other successful female players in the entertainment industry - Eg. Lady Gaga, Sarah Jessica Parker, Marion Cotillard etc. - have also stated that while they aren't "feminists", they do believe in gender equality.
Interestingly, the definition of "feminism" according to the Miriam-Webster dictionary is: "The belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities."
