Kendrick Lamar is likely to walk away from the 2016 Grammys with an armful of awards- with a whopping 11 nominations including for Song of the Year (Alright) and Album of the Year (To Pimp a Butterfly), the rapper will be battling the likes of Taylor Swift, Chris Stapleton, Alabama Snakes, Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth in these categories.
Recording Academy CEO Neil Portow tells The Associated Press: "It's a testimony to his artistry. He's someone that's very serious about his art and about his craft, and has been working it for quite some time. And this is one of those instances where where the work pays off."
Taylor Swift has possible wins in three categories: Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year. As for nominees for Best New Artist, Meghan Trainor, James Bay, Sam Hunt, Courtney Barnett and Tori Kelly are in the race to win.
The awards ceremony will air from the Staples Center in LA on the 15th February 2016.
