Being called high-maintenance is often intended as an insult, but personally I prefer to see it as a positive. Why is having high standards, expecting the best from people and knowing what you like seen as a negative thing? As long as you realise your needs are equal to those around you, then there shouldn't be a problem.
So fine, I'm irrational about not eating cold toast or drinking tea that isn't piping hot, but apart from that most my demands are pretty danm valid.
1. Being Glamorous Is Like Breathing
You practically sprung out of the womb with sunglasses, acrylic nails and a penchant for glitter.
2. Patience Is Not A Virtue
No time for this saying, not time at all. Where has being patient got anyone? I want all the things and I want them now. K thanks, byeeeee.
3. You Can't/Won't Drink A Plain Latte
Be honest, your coffee order is longer than a game of monopoly. Triple-shot-skinny-coconut-caramel-latte-with extra cream is your go-to. You can feel the eye rolls off customers queueing behind you in Starbucks, but do you give a shit? Absolutely not. You guys enjoy your bitter boring coffee while I drink this concoction fit for a unicorn.
4. You Refuse To Lower Your Standards
Cus' why should you? Everyone deserves the best in life, you just worked out earlier than most how to ask for it.
5. People Are Warned About You
You're meeting up with your friends and someone brings a mate, they pre-warn them that there's no point deciding the restaurant/bar until you arrive and advise them that if they're easily embarrassed that they should duck out now. Because you have no qualms sending food back if it's wrong, asking to move tables if it's by a draft or wanting tastes of ice-cream before you make your decision. Sorry, not sorry.
