The term was coined by Macquarie Dictionary to describe the habit of snubbing someone in favour of your phone in 2012, and since then the problem has just got greater...
Every time you pull out your phone to Lol at the Lad Bible or check out Kylie's latest snapchat, when you should be spending quality time with your bae, feelings of depression will increase and they will feel dissatisfied over time with the relationship.
What's more, 46% of adults admit to phubbing (the shame!) and a further 22% admit it causes problems in their relationship, according to new research.
