We have curated a list of beauty rules that you need to break right now because they are outdated, sorry not sorry!
The old rule #1
Gloss is only for your lips
Why to break it When they walked the ramp with glossy eyelids, we immediately knew what was to come! Using gloss on the eyelids is a new trend that we love and believe is here to stay! However, caution needs to be taken as glossy can very easily become sticky, which is a put off! Use multiple products like eyeshadow, vaseline, eyeshadow brushes to get this style right.
The old rule #2
Brick-red lipstick is for older women
Why to break it Well, with a vintage dress on, hair tied in a plat and deep-red lipstick on your lips, anyone is to guess your age to be above 35. But no more. Deep-red lips are just as sexy as the shade of Ruby Woo you love and practice wearing it to a normal evening out with friends with a more rugged outfit! Sneakers, denims, dresses or skirts, this trend will go with absolutely anything.
The old rule #3
Coloured hair is for teenagers
Why to break it If you're a 90s kid you'd know why most people think coloured hair is for teenagers! Our pop culture back then expected youngsters to don crazy bright pink or electric blue hair colour which was a rage among the punk community. But no more, no more! Take inspiration from some of our Hollywood celebs and take a leap of faith.

The old rule #4
Eyebrows should be thin, thread-like
Why to break it: If we had thick eyebrows in school, changes were people would hate on us for being totally out of style. However, the game has changed completely and what's trending now are thick, lush eyebrows that are shaped to perfection. Actually, the thicker, the better -- take a cue from Cara Delevingne.
The old rule #5
Always apply foundation before concealer
How to break it: If you're a working professional, you probably know how difficult it is to put makeup on every morning!
They always say, foundation first, then concealer, then everything else and blend blend blend; but let's be honest, this rule should only apply to all the on-screen appearances and important evening outs. If you're struggling with dark circles or blemishes but have a flawless skin otherwise, wear a coat on concealer on those areas, apply BB cream on the remaining part and blend! This way, your skin can breathe.
Our list below will help you break the old rules! So go ahead and splurge..
