It's great to get away and with so many exciting destinations in the UK, this experience lets you choose a great place to visit as well as giving you time to relax in a four star Marriott hotel. You'll enjoy a two-night stay for two people in a double or twin room, including breakfast and a delicious dinner from the restaurant table d'hote menu each day (drinks not included). You can stay either Friday and Saturday night, or Saturday and Sunday night, and there are plenty of hotels to choose from, all over the country. All the hotels are minimum four star and as Marriott hotels are renowned for their high standard of accommodation, food and service, all you have to worry about is deciding where to go. Start by being kitted out with all the equipment (note: this is not an experience for the style-conscious!), before a full safety briefing and instruction in rafting techniques. Then an experienced guide takes everyone onto the water for a series of runs down the breathtaking twists, turns and drops of the white water course. Raft either on a mighty natural river or a thrilling purpose-built course - either way; it's an adrenaline-fuelled, exhilarating and unforgettable experience. Availability: Rafting starts in early spring and runs throughout the summer and on into late autumn. In Scotland the main rafting seasons are spring and autumn when the white water is at its peak, in Wales selected Sundays Feb to October. Lie in a quiet, darkened room in a warm solution of Epsom Salts, about 10 inches deep and so dense that floating will seem effortless (no need to be able to swim). Epsom Salts are made from naturally occurring minerals and have long been renowned for their health and beauty benefits, including easing stress and soothing muscles with magnesium content. Gentle music plays to help you wind down and drift into a near-meditative state of complete calm. Afterwards, take a refreshing shower before returning to the outside world feeling utterly chilled out. Availability: Six days a week throughout the year (please check each venue for specific availability). Reassure friends who think you are mad that you'll be attached to an expert instructor (literally) throughout the jump. It begins with around an hour of instruction on skydiving and landing techniques, before you go up in the plane. You'll be securely harnessed to your instructor, who will help you jump from the plane. You'll get about 30 seconds of freefall, which is so completely incredible there's no point in us trying to describe it. Then your instructor will open the parachute and control your descent while you admire the view and try to come to terms with the adrenaline rush. Availability: Weekends and some weekdays, they also operate on bank holidays. The venue is closed from mid December to the first week of March annually. We recommend booking several weeks in advance, even earlier for summer weekend dates. Weather: The jump itself is subject to weather conditions and cancellations for this reason are made with your safety in mind. With the basic techniques of carriage driving from a trainer under your belt, try out the short obstacle course. Afterwards, the demo team illustrate exactly what carriage driving is all about while you get on the back step of a carriage, as they pull a multiple formation of chariot ponies, either out in the stunning countryside or indoors with speed and accuracy on show. The experience concludes with refreshments and a rosette to take home. Availability: Seven days a week, all year round. Weekends tend to be very busy and we recommend you allow at least six weeks booking notice.
