Bright And Bold Summer Tote Collection
£97.00
Bright And Bold Summer Tote Collection
Be bold, be bright with a colourful sisal tote! Handwoven in Kenya, designed by The Basket Room. Artisan weavers use the sisal plant to create these beautiful totes, which are finished with two leather handles and a branded tag. Sisal grows locally in rural Kenya where it is often used to make traditional kiondo bags, used whilst going about daily chores. Time and skill are required to prepare the sisal, from harvesting the fibers, to rolling, hand-dyeing and finally weaving. Reflecting their traditional roots, our totes are made with durability, utility and style in mind. Whether you find yourself out grocery shopping, at dinner with friends or on the beach, your tote will be a trusty companion! Basket weaving provides an alternative means of income to farming communities who otherwise face unpredictable cash-flow due to fluctuation in annual rainfall. Buying a tote bag creates a tangible link between you and these comminities, weaving us all into the same story. We are proud to be part of the ethical and fair trade movement. Please note that colour and size may vary due to the handmade nature of the product. MATERIALS Sisal and Leather Leather is a by product of the food industry ETHICAL & FAIR TRADE
