Introduction to Clay Shooting for Two
Introduction to Clay Shooting for Two
Riseley, Bedfordshire:: With a fully loaded shotgun pulled tight to your shoulder, the wafting smell of gunpowder in the air and the clay in your sights, you and a friend will learn the basics of shooting with a fully qualified instructor. At one of the largest shooting clubs in the country you will receive private instruction and a large number of shots in your combined time slot. Within minutes even the most modest beginner will be picking off clays left, right and centre with the precision of a sharp shooter. Tea and coffee is provided on the day, and there are full restaurant facilities in the clubhouse where you can enjoy a full meal or a refreshing pint (after the action of course!) payable on the day. Happy hunting! Availability: Operates every day of the week including bank holidays. Closed Christmas, Boxing and New Year's Days. Weather: This experience will run in almost any weather conditions. Please call ahead if you have any concerns on the day. Duration: Your experience lasts for 30 minutes, but please allow an additional fifteen minutes for gun fitting and briefing. You are welcome to stay on-site for the remainder of the day. Numbers On Day: There will be others shooting at the venue on the same day. Spectators: There are safe areas for spectators who are also welcome to frequent the clubhouse and adjoining patio. Pets are not permitted on-site for safety reasons. Dress Code: Please dress with the vagaries of the British weather in mind for this outdoor experience. We recommend warm layers in which you can move freely. Guidelines: Exit the M1 at junction 13 and take the A421 towards Bedford, then join the A6 (Bedford). Follow this road right through the town centre and follow signs to Kettering. Riseley Road is a right hand turn approximately six miles outside of the town centre. Once on Riseley Road, turn left onto Knotting Lane and another left into the shooting ground. Restrictions: Minimum age is 12. Anyone 16 or under must be accompanied by a spectating adult. As the venue has wheelchair access, disabled participants are welcome (please advise details at the point of booking). Other Info: This shooting club is a member of the BASC (British Association for Shooting and Conservation) and the CPSA (Clay Pigeon Shooting Association) which grades the venue as premier plus.
