Gibson Super Dove Acoustic-Electric Guitar Antique Natural

Gibson Super Dove Acoustic-Electric Guitar Antique Natural
"The Gibson Super Dove Acoustic-Electric Guitar combines the comfort of a semi-hollowbody guitar with huge acoustic sound and high-quality Fishman electronics for a playing experience like no other!Crown Peghead LogoGibson put the first crown peghead logo on an ES-300 back in 1940, and it has graced the headstocks of many legendary Gibson guitars ever sinceincluding today's Super Dove Acoustic Electric Guitar. Over the years, it has also been called a ""thistle"" because of the group of flowering plants with the sharp prickles, though Gibson has preferred to call it a ""crown.""Body Tonewoods (back, sides and top)The top of the Gibson Super Dove Guitar is made from beautiful AAA-grade Sitka spruce, while the back and sides are constructed from AAA-grade Eastern curly maple, giving the Super Dove all the deep, rich tone, clarity and presence expected from a Gibson Super Jumbo. Selecting the right wood, and the formula to dry it out, are two of the most central procedures to Gibson's guitar-building process. Beginning with its first catalog in 1903, Gibson has assured its customers that every guitar would be built using woods with ""the most durable, elastic, and sonorous qualities,"" and today's guitars from Gibson Acoustic are no different.Tapered Dovetail Neck JointThis Gibson guitar's dovetail neck joint is one of the oldestand bestways of securely joining the neck to the body of a guitar. It is also a complex and expensive neck joint to build, but the result is a tight, locking connection that supports the neck at the proper neck-pitch angle, allowing the body and neck to become one solid piece of resonating wood, with no metal to impede vibration. This process is done entirely by hand, requiring patience and skill.Ebony Fingerboard with Rolled EdgesThe fingerboard of Gibson's Super Dove is constructed from the high-grade ebony, which is personally inspected and qualified by Gibson's team of skilled experts before it enters the Gibson factories. The resilience of this durable wood makes the fingerboard extremely balanced and stable, and gives each chord and note unparalleled clarity and bite. The fingerboard also sports a rolled edge instead of the usual right angle where the fingerboard surface meets the neck, Gibson Acoustics' rolled edge is slightly beveled for an extremely smooth and comfortable feel, enhancing the playability of the Super Dove Acoustic Electric Guitar.Fishman Aura Pro Acoustic Pickup SystemGibson's Super Dove comes equipped with a built-in Fishman Aura Pro, featuring Fishman's popular Aura Acoustic Imaging Technology. This ground-breaking pickup system reproduces the natural sound of the Super Dove as miked in a professional studio, and onstage, thus eliminating the complicated setups of expensive microphones. Aura Pro uses digital algorithms to create images of various microphones' captured sounds. Players can then blend these images with an acoustic guitar's pickup to produce an immediate and dramatic improvement in amplified"

All Les Paul Standard necks receive precision fret dressing and setup with the Plek system. As the guitar lies in a cradle, a computer-controlled robot arm moves along the neck measuring each fret's height, the fingerboard radius, even the bow in the neck. Using that data, the Plek machine adjusts the truss rod, cuts the nut slots for optimal spacing and height for each string, files each fret to a hundredth of a millimeter accuracy, and then polishes the frets. In a fraction of the time it takes a skilled technician, the Plek machine eliminates buzzing strings and dead spots, producing a neck with flawless intonation and superb action.NOTE: Solid finish models come with the pickguard attached. Gibson Sg Special Satin Ebony Electric Guitar Satin Ebony
$799.00
Gibson Sg Special Satin Ebony Electric Guitar Satin Ebony
Hands down, the Gibson SG Special Satin Ebony electric guitar is the best combination of features and value in Gibson's iconic SG line-up. You still get the dynamic, slim mahogany body and hair-trigger quick neck that have made the SG a workhorse guitar, yet without all the non-essentials. The ultra-affordable price tag on this electric guitar is owed to fewer coats of finish than can be found on the traditional SG Standard and SG Special. This stripped-down finishing process means that not only will you enjoy more resonance, but you'll be the proud owner of an SG that looks straight out of the '60s. The Gibson SG Special is uncivilized. It's fierce. And it's got to hang in your guitar rack.Solid Mahogany Body Probably the most central of all the SG Special's features is its solid mahogany bodylightweight, strong, with a thick, warm tone. The mahogany goes through the same rigorous selection process as all of Gibson's woods, and is personally inspected and qualified by Gibson's team of skilled wood experts before it enters the Gibson factories. Inside the Gibson factories, humidity is maintained at 45 percent, and the temperature at 70 degrees. This ensures all woods are dried to a level of equilibrium, where the moisture content does not change during the manufacturing process. This guarantees tight-fitting joints and no expansion, in addition to reducing the weight. It also helps with improving the woods' machinability and finishing properties. Consistent moisture content means that a Gibson guitar will respond evenly to temperature and humidity changes long after it leaves the factory.'50s Rounded Neck Profile No guitar neck profiles are more distinguishable than the neck profiles employed on the Gibson models of today. The guitar's more traditional '50s neck profile on the SG Special is the thicker, rounder profile, emulating the neck shapes found on the iconic 1958 and 1959 Les Paul Standards. The neck is machined in Gibson's rough mill using wood shapers to make the initial cuts. But once the fingerboard gets glued on, the restincluding the final sandingis done by hand. That means there are no two necks with the exact same dimensions. So while the Gibson SG Special guitar still has the basic characteristics of its respective profile, each neck will be slightly different, with a distinct but traditional feel.Dot Inlays Over the years, the classic dot inlay has been one of the more traditional features of many Gibson guitars, including the SG. A figured, swirl acrylic gives these inlays that distinguished pearl look. They are inserted into the fingerboard using a process that eliminates gaps and doesn't require the use of fillers.Gibson's 490 (R) Rhythm and (T) Treble Pickup The mid to late 1960s saw the emergence of a very different type of music coming from the clubs of England. It was an interpretation of the blues that hadn't been heard before, and it was much harder, more rocking, and definitely louder than anything else before it. A

"With an oversized, chambered Les Paul body, a marker-less ebony fingerboard, and Buckethead's choice of Gibson's contemporary ceramic humbucking pickupscomplete with modified electronics and ""arcade"" style kill switchesthis is a Les Paul guitar like no other. It's primed to get you noticed, and designed for utmost performance for the contemporary rock, metal, and shred performer. The Buckethead Les Paul Studio is crafted from a 2-piece maple top set into a chambered mahogany body. This wood combination, one of the most acclaimed pairings in the history of the solid and semi-solid electric guitar, yields a ""best of both worlds"" tonal splendor. With the great clarity, definition and treble bite from the maple, and excellent depth and richness from the mahogany, elements found in the classic Les Paul tone. The chambering adds a further dimension, increasing the complexity of this guitar's tone, while also increasing its acoustic volume and sustain.Reflecting Buckethead's continued departure from the norm, the Buckethead Les Paul Studio looks outwardly much like a slightly modified white Les Paul Studio, but had been made with an oversized, chambered body. The chambered mahogany back serves to minimize weight, while also adding tonal nuances to the guitar's overall sound. The Gibson Buckethead Signature Les Paul is finished in high-gloss Satin White which is complemented with a stunning black and white 5-ply binding. These give this unique electric guitar a sleek, contemporary appearance and a smooth, fast playing feel.NeckThe neck of the Gibson Buckethead signature guitar is constructed from a single piece of solid mahogany, and glued to the body at a 4-degree angle (pitch). Mahogany is a traditional neck wood that is prized for its combination of lightness and strength.Buckethead's Signature Les Paul neck is carved to its own custom profile that runs from .870"" at the nut to .955"" at the 12th fret, and is designed for the ultimate combination of speed and comfort. The Buckethead Signature Les Paul features a 27"" scale length which increases neck tension for improved accuracy and precision and allows for the lower tunings used in modern rock music.FingerboardThe Buckethead Signature Les Paul is equipped with a torrefied maple fingerboard, which enhances note attack and articulation. The 12"" radius of the Les Paul fingerboard provides smooth note bending capabilities and eliminates ""dead"" or ""choked out"" notes, common occurrences on fingerboards with lesser radiuses. It sports 24 jumbo frets that are immaculately dressed and polished. It carries no inlays, echoing the stark, contemporary look that this artist is known for.PickupsThe Buckethead guitar carries a calibrated pair of Gibson's contemporary-voiced Ceramic series humbucking pickups, featuring a 496R Hot Ceramic in the neck (rhythm) position, and a hot 500T Super Ceramic in the bridge (lead) position. Gibson Sg '61 Reissue Electric Guitar Heritage Cherry
"The Gibson SG '61 Reissue Electric Guitar is so light, comfortable, and playable you won't want to put it down. Features a slim-tapered neck, sculpted, double-cutaway, mahogany body, exclusive Gibson '57 classic humbucking pickups at the neck and bridge, and 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. Relive some of the greatest moments of rock 'n' roll with a one-piece bound mahogany neck, Tune-O-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, and chrome hardware. Includes Gibson hardshell case.'60s Slim-Taper Neck ProfileThe '60s neck profilefound on the SG '61 Reissueis the more modern, slim-tapered neck most commonly associated with the Les Paul and SG models of the early 1960s. The neck is machined in Gibson's rough mill using wood shapers to make the initial cuts. But once the fingerboard gets glued on, the restincluding the final sandingis done by hand. That means there are no two necks with the exact same dimensions. So while it still has the basic characteristics of its respective profile, each neck will be slightly different, with a distinct but traditional feel.'57 Classic PickupsAmong the qualities that make Gibson's original ""Patent Applied For"" humbucking pickups so unique are the subtle variations between coil windings. For the first few years of their production1955 to 1961Gibson's PAF humbuckers were wound using imprecise machines, resulting in pickups with slightly different output and tone, desirable to players who wanted to mix and match and explore a complete spectrum of tonal possibilities. The '57 Classic pickups are the result of Gibson's drive to capture and recreate this renowned characteristic. Introduced in 1992, the '57 Classic provides warm, full tone with a balanced response, packing that classic Gibson PAF humbucker crunch. These are made by Gibson to the exact same specs as the original PAFs, including Alnico II magnets, nickel-plated pole pieces, nickel slugs, maple spacers, and vintage-style, two-conductor braided wiring. Instead of enamel-coated wiring, Gibson added poly-coated wiringwhich improves consistency by eliminating thin or thick spots on the wireand wax potting, which removes all internal air space and any chance of microphonic feedback.A Little SG HistoryIn 1961, the Les Paul was redesigned with a thinner body and 2 sharp cutaway horns making the upper frets more accessible while lowering production costs. The new guitar was popular, but Les Paul the guitarist did not like it and asked to have his name removed. Gibson renamed the model the ""SG"" which was short for ""solid guitar"". Though Les Paul's name was officially removed from the model in 1961, the plastic Les Paul nameplates (positioned between the rhythm pickup and fingerboard) were in abundance in the Gibson factory and SG models having these nameplates were built and sold by Gibson up to end of 1963. SGs have been the choice of world-class artists such as Pete Townshend, Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, and Angus Young.Check the drop-down menu to the right"

Gibson 50Th Anniversary Pete Townshend Sg Electric Guitar
$1,389.00 $899.99
Gibson 50Th Anniversary Pete Townshend Sg Electric Guitar
"The 50th Anniversary Peter Townshend SG electric guitar captures all the classic ingredients of Gibson's great double-cutaway solidbody model. Like the best SGs of the past 50 years, the 50th Anniversary Pete Townshend SG starts with a solid mahogany body and glued-in mahogany neck, a pairing that ensures ringing sustain, superb tonal depth, and plenty of clarity and richness. The body's thin dimensions make this a pleasurably light guitar to play, while its classically beveled edges also make it comfortable on the forearm. Combine this with a beautifully ergonomic '60s neck profile, and you've got one of the sweetest playing rock machines available today. Two biting P-90 pickups with Alnico V magnets convey the Townshend SG's sonic spunk to your amp of choice, yielding anything from deep, warm vocal tones in the neck position to endless growl and roar in the bridge, to round and snappy tones in between. The lightning bar wrapound tailpiece keeps it all rock-solid and resonant, while up at the other end a PLEK-cut Corian nut ensures clean intonation and singing sustain. Top it all off with a set of vintage-style tuners with pearloid buttons, a unique ""50 Years"" headstock emblem, and a high-gloss nitrocellulose finish in Alpine White, and you've got a spectacular celebration of one of the world's favorite electric guitars, all wrapped up in an instrument you can gig with today. Each 50th Anniversary Pete Townshend SG includes a Gibson hardshell case with ""WHO"" bolding stenciled on it, and owner's manual, and is covered by Gibson's Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 customer service. The SG StoryWay back in 1961 when the SG Standard temporarily replaced the Les Paul Standard in the Gibson line up, few were aware that a future icon of rock guitar was being introduced to the scene. Originally called the ""Les Paul/SG"", this radical, double-cutaway electric with two dramatic asymmetrical pointed ""horns"" and a thin all-mahogany body was worlds away from the single-cutaway maple and mahogany Les Paul that it replaced. It proved to have similar power, punch and versatility, but also expressed a voice all its own, one that has grabbed many heavy rock and metal players in particular, alongside countless classic rock and blues artists. By the time the single-cutaway Les Paul returned in the late '60s, the SG Standard was already a legend, and had forever claimed its place in rock history.Alpine White finishMahogany bodyMahogany set neck.800/.875 SG '60s neck profileRosewood fingerboard22 fretsCorian nut1.695"" nut widthDual P-90 pickups with Alnico 5 magnets2-Volume, 2 Tone controls3-way pickup toggleGrover kidney tunersChrome hardwareLightning bar wraparound tailpiece50th Anniversary silkscreen headstock5-ply pickguardIncludes SG hardshell case with ""WHO"" stencil"

Les Paul himself didn't like it so the Les Paul stuck to its original style and the new Les Paul design was renamed the SG Standard. Even though Les Paul didn't approve of it, countless rockers loved it and made it one of all-time hard rockin' favorites. This is the early '60s deluxe model. During his time with The Doors, and beyond, Robby Krieger proved himself one of the most inventive guitarists in rock. His lithe, flamenco- and jazz-influenced licks and solos took the electric guitar in directions that no other popular rock artist was exploring, and constituted one of the main ingredients in a band that stood out as totally unique not only in its own time, but for all time. And throughout his career, Krieger chose a Gibson SG Standard to launch his sonic explorations. In joint celebration of this ground-breaking guitarists vast achievements and the 50th Anniversary of the Gibson SG, Gibson USA presents the 50th Anniversary Robby Krieger SG, an instrument painstakingly crafted in the image of the great 60s SGs that Krieger made his own. It is glued into the body with Gibsons acclaimed deep set-neck joint, and topped with a Grade-A rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and vintage cream binding. And to give this SG the special treatment it deserves, the back plate covering the controls is adorned in Robby Kriegers own musically themed artwork, while a 50th Anniversary graphic on the headstock declares the guitars pedigree. Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Axcess W/ Floyd Rose Electric Guitar
"The Gibson Les Paul Custom Axcess with Floyd Rose electric guitar carries all the elegant styling, fluid body lines, and rocking attitude of a classic Les Paul Standard guitar from the golden era of 1958 to '60 now in a sleek Silver Burst finish. The Gibson Les Paul Custom Axcess reveals a handful of upgrades upon closer examinationall modifications made in the name of maximum playability and versatility. The most noticeable addition is the Floyd Rose tailpiece, a unit optimized for anything from subtle vibrato wobbles to dramatic, rumbling divebombs. Partnered with an R4 locking nut, it also guarantees outstanding tuning stability and return-to-pitch accuracy. While the Custom Axcess sports what looks from the front to be a traditional Les Paul neck joint, the neck heel and portions of the back and neck joint at the upper cutaway have been contoured to provide a ""heelless"" feel and an unimpeded reach right up to the 22nd fret. No more stretching against the traditional neck heel to achieve the upper-fret access that your lead style demandsthe Gibson Axcess guitar gives you that sought-after Les Paul playability all the way up the neck, and welcomes you to take it right over the top.To further enhance playing comfort, the Gibson Les Paul's smoothly carved neck joint is joined by a ""belly scarf"" (a.k.a. ribcage contour) that allows the body of the Les Paul guitar to hug closely to your own body in the playing position without digging in. Add to these contours the Les Paul Axcess guitar's slightly thinner body, made from weight-relieved mahogany (with carved maple top), and you've also got a Les Paul guitar that is refreshingly light, and a pure joy to play either strapped on or seated. The Gibson Les Paul Custom Axcess now comes juiced with two super hot Gibson pickups, the 498T and the 496R. These forces to reckoned with pickups yield numerous tonal opportunities and can help drive your favorite amp to ultra crunch and scorching leads in addition to providing ballsy blues tones, warm, fluid vocal tones, snappy country, and fat sweet growls. Instead of just being able to split both pickups at the same time with one push/pull (like the original LP Axcess configuration), you can now ""split"" each guitar pickup separately by pulling up either the rhythm or treble tone knob which allows you to blend ""single coil"" tones with full humbucking tones. This gives 2 more pickup settings than the original Gibson Les Paul Axcess Standard configuration thereby providing a wider array of tones. Simply pull up the treble and/or rhythm tone control knobs to ""axcess"" single coil tones and experiment with combining full humbucking with single coil tones, etc;hellip:Being a product of the Gibson Custom Shop, the Les Paul Custom Axcess is an electric guitar built to the highest standards attainable, which include a final set-up and fret dressing by the computer-controlled PLEK System precision fret dressing and setup with the Plek system. Gibson Custom 1955 Les Paul Historic Prototype Electric Guitar
$3,999.00
Gibson Custom 1955 Les Paul Historic Prototype Electric Guitar
"Gibson's Custom Shop builds Prototypes to ensure that the guitar's design is completely refined before the instrument goes into production. Prototypes serve as the standard reference for production models, and instead of having a serial number stamped on the back of their headstock, they have a handwritten prototype notation there. Offered in extremely limited quantities, the Gibson Goldtop Hot-Mod Les Paul and other Gibson prototype guitars have great collectibility potential. The hot-mod angle on the Gibson Custom Prototype 1955 Les Paul Electric Guitar is based on the idea of a 1955 Les Paul Goldtop that was later modified with humbucker pickups (introduced by Gibson in 1957). The classic combination of maple-topped mahogany body with ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and humbuckers delivers a glorious monster tone that introduces a comfortable and resonant neck profile.Soft Shoulder '55 Neck ProfileThe Soft Shoulder '55 neck profile makes the Gibson Les Paul guitar sit in your hand like no other guitar neck. Gibson's guitar team chose a '55 Les Paul that had a neck with a ""magical feel"" to serve as a model for the Soft Shoulder '55 neck. The depth is the same from the top of the fretboard to the back of the neck as the rounded '50s neck, yet has gently sloping sides that sit comfortably in your hand. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic Bridge and Stopbar TailpieceThe ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge on this Gibson Custom guitar was the brainchild of renowned Gibson president Ted McCarty in 1954, setting a standard for simplicity and functionality that has never been bettered. The ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic is slotted directly into the body of the guitar using a separate stud and thumbwheel, providing a firm seating for the strings and allowing players the ability to adjust and fine tune intonation and string height in a matter of minutes. And held in place with TonePros long steel anchors and long locking studs, the stopbar tailpiece yields a great union between the Gibson Les Paul's strings and body, which results in excellent vintage tone and sustain.BurstBucker humbuckersThe BurstBucker 1 neck humbucker replicates the sounds from Gibson's original ""Patent Applied For"" pickups, are slightly underwound, with medium ""vintage"" output. The BurstBucker 2 is a humbucking pickup wound in the range of Gibson's '57 Classic for replica sound. Unpolished magnets and non-potted coils, just like the original. Slightly hotter than the BurstBucker 1, the 2 works well in the Gibson Prototype's bridge position with a BurstBucker 1 pickup in the neck position. Year of 1955 Innovation1955 was a year of great innovation in all areas of American life. 1955 saw the dawn of the United States space program. The first of the classic V8Chevrolets hit dealerships all over the country, reflecting the spirit of change that was in the air. And don't forget there was Rock and Roll! Jukeboxes were blasting music by Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, a kid named Elvis, and his guitar player Scotty Moore. Something was afo"

Gibson Les Paul Studio Pro Faded Electric Guitar Worn Cherry

Gibson Les Paul Studio Pro Faded Electric Guitar Worn Cherry
"The original idea for the Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar was to create a somewhat lower-priced Paul by dispensing with some cosmetics. The result was an especially clean, handsome guitar with all the Les Paul essentials. The Les Paul Studio Pro Faded ups the sonic ante with a pair of BurstBucker Pro humbuckers that deliver warm rhythm and hot, solid lead sounds with the added tonal flexibility of coil-splitting. Hallmark Les Paul features include a set mahogany neck with rounded '50s profile which offers a smooth playing feel in the hand, rosewood fingerboard, and a chambered mahogany body with a worn satin finish that evokes the fading finish that happens with an instrument that's been lovingly played over the years.BurstBucker ProThe BurstBucker Pro enhances the vintage ""edge"" of Gibson's popular BurstBucker pickups with the added feature of an Alnico 5 magnet. In 2000, Gibson's new BurstBuckers captured the subtle variations in true humbucker tone with historically accurate ""unmatched"" bobbin windings and an Alnico II magnet. Two years later, in keeping with Gibson's long history of experimentation and innovation in pickup design, Gibson developed an Alnico 5 BurstBucker specifically for new Les Paul Standards. The outstanding performance of this new pickup (originally called the BurstBucker V) led to an overwhelming demand for an after-market version. With the BurstBucker Pro, all ""Pure Tone Lovers"" can now have stunning humbucking tone.Like all Burstbuckers, the Burstbucker Pro has asymmetrical coilstrue to the original PAFswhich supply a more open sound. The Burstbucker Pro Neck is wound slightly less than the original PAFs, while the Burstbucker Pro Bridge is slightly overwound for increased output. The Burstbucker Pro pickups are also wax potted to allow loud volume pressures with minimal feedback. Coil-splitting via a push/pull switch on each pickup's volume control gives you the added sonic dimensions of single-coil pickup sounds.Chambered BodyThe Les Paul Studio Pro Faded benefits from Gibson's proven chambering technique, which leaves the guitar with perfect tone, balance, and weight. So, in addition to relieving the stress on a player's back and shoulder, it also enhances the tone palette in a manner unique to this treatment. The results is a comfortable, lightweight guitar that's acoustically louder, with increased sustain and resonance.TonePros Locking Tune-O-Matic Bridge and Locking Stopbar TailpieceThe TonePros locking Nashville Tune-o-matic in a chrome finish has saddle adjustment screws on the pickup side, and pre-notched saddles for quick installation. The chrome locking stopbar tailpiece is also from TonePros. Gibson Custom Sg Standard With Maestro Vos Electric Guitar Tv Yellow
"This Gibson Custom SG was a futuristic design when it was introduced in 1961, and it still has a modern look. Historically correct features include an ultra-thin, 2-horned body, the SG series addressed 2 of what Ted McCarty saw as the major issues of the now-retired Les Paul body style: weight and limited access to the upper treble register. The new body shape of the SG Standard was dramatically lighter than the old Les Paul and offered access to the entire fretboard. This amazing re-creation includes pickups and long neck tenon modeled precisely on the original. The VOS aging treatment makes it look exactly like a vintage original instrument that's been treated with loving care for its whole life with a slightly aged finish and hardware. Vintage Original Spec series instruments receive a special nitro-cellulose finish treatment yielding the patina of a gently-aged vintage guitar while handcrafting enhances comfort and playability. Each VOS model has a solid mahogany back; historically accurate long-neck tenon for strength and sustain; and period-correct neck profile, hardware, and electronics.A Little SG HistoryIn 1961, the Les Paul was redesigned with a thinner body and two sharp cutaway horns that making the upper frets more accessible while lowering production costs. When the ES-175 debuted with a run of 129 in 1949, it nudged aside the ES-150, which had been the guitar of choice for jazz innovators like Charlie Christian and Eddie Durham. The ES-175 also proved a more manageable and less costly alternative to the L-5s thanks to its smaller body size and laminated top.Due to its enduring appeal a blend of comfortable playability and warm sonic versatility with presence to spare the ES-175 has found its way into the hands and hearts of generations of players. Its success leapt across genres to play a role in defining the sound of early rock when Elvis Presley's guitarist Scott Moore acquired his first ES-295 essentially a model based on the ES-175 but equipped with two P-90 pickups and accompanied the King on his Sun Records classics. Other great ES-175 players include Pat Metheny, Joe Pass, Howard Roberts, Keith Richards, and Yes' Steve Howe.Body and HardwareThe ES-175 was the first Gibson electric guitar to feature a Florentine cutaway beneath the neck, giving easy access to all 20 frets. Gibson Les Paul Junior Special Electric Guitar With P-90 Pickups Satin Yellow
"Introduced in 1954 as an entry-level version of the Les Paul, the Les Paul Junior graduated from kids bedrooms, to garage bands, to club and arena stages through the course of three decades as it became a favorite of beginners and professional players alike. The bare-bones, slab-bodied, single-cutaway electric earned the respect of rock and rollers in particular, and became a punk favorite in the late 70s and early 80s, but also turned up in the hands of a surprisingly diverse range of guitar stars. As simple as the Les Paul Junior was in design and construction, its basic cornerstone ingredients added up to create a robust and toneful instrument. The marriage of hot, raw single-coil P-90 pickup, resonant mahogany body, and sturdy glued-in Gibson neck created a guitar with surprising reserves of depth and power, at an extremely appealing price. Now the Les Paul Jr Special Exclusive reproduces the simple pleasures of that 55-year-old classic, while updating the format with a second pickup (in the neck position, a la the Les Paul Special), and improved hardware in the form of a tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece combination.Mahogany body24.75"" Scale slim-taper mahogany neckTorrified maple fretboard with 22 medium fretsDual Gibson P-90 soapbar single-coil pickupsTune-o-matic bridgeKluson vintage-style tuning machinesNitrocellulose finish"

Gibson Custom 1954 Les Paul Custom Vos Electric Guitar Ebony

Gibson Custom 1954 Les Paul Custom Vos Electric Guitar Ebony
"Les Paul wanted two colors used on the Gibson guitar that would forever bear his name: gold (for its connection to all things fine) and black (because a player's hands would be easily visible against a dark background). Les got the gold in 1952, but had to wait for the black. The Les Paul Custom was introduced in 1954 and featured elegant appointments like gold hardware, multiple binding, and an ebony fretboard. The '54 Custom was also the first solidbody Gibson guitar to use the ABR-1 bridge, the familiar piece of hardware we've all come to know as the Tune-O-Matic.Underneath it's luxurious inky finish, this historic re-creation of the original 1954 Custom features a carved mahogany top, a solid mahogany back, one-piece mahogany neck with long neck tenon, an early '50s rounded neck profile, 24-3/4"" scale length, and a 1-11/16"" nut width. It also has multi-ply white/black binding on the body and headstock, with white single-ply binding on the fingerboard. Its finer appointments include gold hardware, an ebony fingerboard, large pearl block inlays, pearl headstock inlay, and kidney bean tuners. The original circuitry is preserved with the use of CTS pots and bumble bee capacitors in the signal path and the unique pickup array of a vintage P-90 pickup at the bridge and a rare Alnico V pickup at the neck. The Alnico V pickup was designed in 1952 by Seth Lover and Walt Fuller for Gibson to succeed the P-90 pickup on several of Gibson's distinguished archtop jazz hollowbodies, most famously the L5 CES, ES-5, and Byrdland guitars. Similar to the P-90 in appearance, the Alnico V is easily recognized by its distinctive rectangular pole pieces. It gets its name from the stronger Alnico V magnets, while each coil has 10,000 turns of 42-gauge wire to achieve its clear, round, ringing sound. It made its debut on a solidbody Gibson in the Fretless Wonder of 1954; the Les Paul Custom, or Black Beauty.Vintage Original Spec series instruments receive a special nitro-cellulose finish treatment yielding the patina of a gently-aged vintage guitar while handcrafting enhances comfort and playability. Gibson Les Paul Double Cutaway Electric Guitar Ebony
"From the time of its release in 1998, the Gibson Les Paul DC Standard has satisfied the countless players who had long demanded a contemporary-styled, double-cutaway Les Paul that also retained the long tradition of Gibson's most legendary solid body electric guitar. The Les Paul Double Cutaway celebrates this popular model in a limited-edition guitar with special appointments. This limited run of Gibson Les Pauls is available in three finishes: ebony, bullion gold and classic white with a dark back and neck. The Les Paul Double Cutaway's body woods present a combination of good clarity, definition and treble bite from the two-piece maple top, and excellent depth and richness from a chambered mahogany body, all of which are elements that are found in the classic Gibson Les Paul Standard tone. This wood combination, one of the most legendary pairs in the history of the solid and semi-solid electric guitar, yields a ""best of both worlds"" tonal splendor, while also producing a classic look and a sturdy instrument. The chambering adds a further dimension, increasing the complexity of this Gibson guitar's tone, while also increasing its acoustic volume and sustain. The neck of the Gibson Les Paul Double Cutaway is constructed from one solid piece of Grade-C mahogany, cut using the superior ""quarter sawn"" orientation for improved strength and resonance. This neck is carved to Gibson's slim-taper '60s profile, which offers a fast, comfortable playing feel. It is carefully angled at Gibson's traditional 17 degrees, which increases pressure on the strings and helps them stay in the nut slots. The Gibson logo is inlaid in mother of pearl across the top of the headstock face with ""Les Paul Model"" silkscreened in gold along the center of the headstock. The Gibson Les Paul Double Cutaway guitar sports 22 jumbo frets on a rosewood fingerboard that is adorned with acrylic trapezoidal inlays. The 12-inch radius or this fingerboard provides smooth note bending capabilities and eliminates ""dead"" or ""choked out"" notes. The headstock of the Gibson Les Paul Double Cutaway is fitted with vintage-style tuners with pearloid tulip buttons. These tuners provide a classic look in line with the model's lineage, and smooth, robust performance. The Les Paul Double Cutaway electric guitar is equipped with a Gibson Rhythm Pro humbucker in the neck position and a Lead Pro humbucker in the bridge position. These are classic-styled open-coil humbuckers, wound with a little more power than vintage-styled PAF humbuckers. They both have Alnico V bar magnets for a warm, rich tone that is still sharp and punchy, and are suitable for a wide range of musical styles, particularly rock and blues-rock. Both the bridge and neck pickup yield plenty of depth, warmth, and richness, and can dial in great clean tones when required, but will also push amps and effects a little harder when desired. The Rhythm Pro in the neck position is a bit warmer and fatter sounding, while the Lead Pro in the bridge"

Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar Satin Ebony Chrome Hardware
"The arrival of the Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar in 1983 offered guitarists all the essential elements of a Les Paul Standard, including a carved top and humbucking pickups. Its simple yet elegant design quickly helped it become the most popular model in the Les Paul Series. Cutting-yet-rich tonethe hallmark of the Les Paulpours out of the 490R and 498T Alnico II magnet humbucker pickups (BurstBucker Pro on faded models), which are mounted on a carved maple top with a mahogany back. The Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar includes a Gibson hardshell case (Faded and satin finish models come with a gig bag) and a limited lifetime warranty.Body and FinishA solid, carved maple top and chambered mahogany body give the Les Paul Studio the same tonewood combination that has been helping Les Paul Standards rock for nearly 60 years. And each of its four available nitrocellulose finishes makes for a stunning looking guitar, even while its no-frills approach eliminates body binding and pickguard. Mahogany is a medium-dense wood with excellent resonance and superior sustain, and it offers a rich, round, warm tone, but with plenty of high-end sheen and good mid-range presence. Add a solid maple top, and the guitar's tone is enhanced with added clarity, sustain and definition. The body's chambering also enhances its mellow acoustic resonance, and adds further air to the midrange content. PickupsGibson's 498T and 490R pickups (""T"" for treble, and ""R"" for rhythm) have the traditional characteristics of the original ""Patent Applied For"" pickups of the late 1950s, with a few upgrades. These pickups take advantage of wax potting, which does away with any air space inside the pickup, therefore lessening the chances of microphonic feedback. The result is a humbucker with the tonal characteristics of an original PAF, with a slight increase in upper mid-range response. The Gibson 498T bridge pickup is the 490R's ideal complement.Taking the 490R one step further, the 498T is wound a little hotter and also swaps the Alnico II magnet for an Alnico V, giving it more punch and greater emphasis on midrange and highs. The 490R/498T is one of the most versatile humbucking pickup sets available. In the neck position, the former yields juicy, warm vocal tones with outstanding clarity, while the latter in the bridge position excels at everything from bright jangle through a clean amp to wailing overdrive with near-infinite sustain through a high-gain amp. Selected together, the pair gives you everything from funky to greasy, depending upon amp and effects settings. Gibson Custom 1959 Les Paul Reissue Vos Electric Guitar Lemon Burst

Gibson Custom 1959 Les Paul Reissue Vos Electric Guitar Lemon Burst
"In 1959, the Les Paul Standard made a change to wider, fatter jumbo frets which made it a more facile guitar. The significance of this change wouldn't be felt until the late '60s when Clapton, Bloomfield, Peter Green, and other emerging guitarists discovered its warm, thick BurstBucker voice and fast, smooth and easy-playing neck. Then the Les Paul began its ascent toward ultimate icon status.Like all VOS (Vintage Original Spec) Series instruments, the 1959 Les Paul Reissue VOS is handcrafted for comfort and playability in the Gibson Custom Shop. The construction, neck profile, hardware, and electronics are period accurate, and a special nitrocellulose treatment of the Lemon Burst finish gives it the patina of a gently aged vintage guitar. Gibson 2012 Les Paul Standard Premium Aaa Electric Guitar Desert Burst

Gibson 2012 Les Paul Standard Premium Aaa Electric Guitar Desert Burst
All the sumptuous ingredients that makes the Les Paul name great are in the 2012 Gibson Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar in spades: your choice of a skillfully carved plain or AAA figured maple top on a mahogany back perfectly joined to a mahogany neck, Burstbucker Pro pickups each fitted with coil-split capability, locking tuning machines, and neck and body binding, this is truly a full-featured, loaded Les Paul and now features a compound-radius rosewood fretboard. Also, new modern weight relieving is carefully applied inside the mahogany back to provide outstanding balance while optimizing the sonic capabilities of the guitar.Burstbucker Pro HumbuckersGibsons drive to recapture the magic of the original Patent Applied For humbucker pickups of the 1950s culminated with the introduction of the Burstbucker line in the early 1990s. In 2002, Gibson followed up this innovative accomplishment with yet another breakthrough in pickup designthe Burstbucker Pro, designed specifically for Les Paul Standards. The Burstbucker Pro features an Alnico V magnet (instead of the Alnico II), which offers slightly higher output and allows preamps to be driven a little harder to achieve a more natural break-up. Like all Burstbuckers, the Burstbucker Pro has asymmetrical coilstrue to the original PAFswhich supply a more open sound. The Burstbucker Pro Neck is wound slightly less than the original PAFs, while the Burstbucker Pro Bridge is slightly overwound for increased output. The Burstbucker Pro pickups are also wax potted to allow loud volume pressures with minimal feedback. A high-quality Switchcraft output jack ensures a perfect connection to your cable allowing the purest signal to leave the guitar.2 Push/Pull Tone controlsIn addition to controlling tone, one is a phase switch which allows for new tonal flavors, especially when used in combination with the coil-splitting feature. The other engages the Pure Bypass circuit which sends the bridge pickup signal straight to the output jack to deliver the most direct, pure and dynamic signal possible.Coil TappingThe bridge and neck pickups can each be split via their own push/pull switch on the volume knob to achieve a single-coil tone. This coil-tapping function allows you to instantly achieve brighter, snappier tones from this humbucker-loaded guitar, to replicate the sounds of other classic guitars equipped with single-coil pickups, and to return to the Les Paul Standard's thick, warm, powerful, full-humbucking tone at the push of a knob. Frequency-tuned Fat Tap coil tapping creates a fatter single coil tone with great output and balance when switching from dual to single coils. Single coil configurations are specially designed to be hum-reducing.Neck ProfileThe 2012 Les Paul Standard is fitted with Gibsons classic 60s slim-taper neck profile, which is the more modern, slim-tapered neck most commonly associated with the Les Paul and SG models of the early 1960s. A compound radius rosewood fingerboard allows for c

Gibson Custom 1955 Les Paul Historic Prototype Electric Guitar

Gibson Custom 1955 Les Paul Historic Prototype Electric Guitar
"The Gibson Prototype Les Paul Custom Sedona Sunsetburst is a limited run electric guitar that has an exquisite finish. This unique axe has both a handwritten prototype number and a custom shop serial number on the back of the headstock. In the mid-50s, a sunburst finish was not an available option on a Les Paul. In 1958, Goldtops were phased out and a cherry sunburst became the standard finish. Sunburst finishes became all the rage with some really popular artists such as Clapton and Bloomfield using late 50s 'Bursts. The single-cut Gibson Les Paul electric guitars were discontinued in '60-'61 and were not reintroduced for several years. Many players started stripping the gold off the top of their early-mid 50s Les Paul guitars and would have them refinished to emulate the desirable sunburst Les Pauls. The Gibson Custom Refin Hot-Mod features a prototype Sedona Sunsetburst top.The hot-mod angle on the Gibson Custom Refin Hot-Mod 1955 Les Paul electric guitar is based on the idea of a 1955 Les Paul that was later modified with humbucker pickups (introduced by Gibson in 1957). The classic combination of the mapled-topped mahogany body with wraptail bridge and humbuckers delivers a glorious monster tone that introduces a comfortable and resonant neck profile.BurstBucker humbuckersThe BurstBucker 1 neck humbucker replicates the sounds from Gibson's original ""Patent Applied For"" pickups, are slightly underwound, with medium ""vintage"" output. The BurstBucker 2 is a humbucking pickup wound in the range of Gibson's '57 Classic for replica sound. Unpolished magnets and non-potted coils, just like the original. Slightly hotter than the BurstBucker 1, the 2 works well in the bridge position with a BurstBucker 1 pickup in the neck position. TonePros ""Wraptail"" Bridge/TailpieceThe TonePros ""Wraptail"" vintage-style one-piece wraparound bridge/tailpiece has locking steel studs mounted into long steel anchors for superior tone transference. A classic piece of hardware, the wraparound bridge/tailpiece on the '55 Les Paul Guitar offers a simplicity and functionality that is hard to match. It provides a firm seating for the strings, allowing the player to adjust intonation and string height as needed. This yields an incredible union between the strings and body, resulting in excellent tone and sustain.Soft Shoulder '55 Neck ProfileThe Soft Shoulder '55 neck profile makes the Gibson Les Paul Refin Hot-Mod sit in your hand like no other guitar neck. Year of 1955 Innovation1955 was a year of great innovation in all areas of American life. 1955 saw the dawn of the United States space program. The first of the classic V8Chevrolets hit dealerships all over the country, reflecting"
